The easiest and fastest way to learn Internet naviagtion, how to design your own website, or both, by "good example". It is exactly the same type page you find around the World on the Internet or World Wide Web, and is commonly known as a "homepage". The difference is it is on your computer, a home base for launching on to the Internet and returning to when you click on "Home". With little effort the page may be edited by the user, changing text, graphics, links, or any part of the page. There are twelve built in backgrounds ready to go or you can just use background colors, all by simply changing the tag codes, which are also built in for your reference. You will find instruction while viewing the page and even more when uou open the page for edit, using any editor, expensive or difficult HTML editors unnecessary, just use Windows 95 "Wordpad", found in the "Accessories" menu, or Windows 3.1 "Write". Using either, be sure and "Save" all files as "plain text" type. If your only interest is easily navigating the Internet, you will never have it easier. There is "one click away" access to numerous qulaity websites and all the best search engines.

If you are inclined to learn how to design web pages, you will have a miles ahead start in learning by example. Just "Save As" your "homepage.htm" file to "index.html" in the same directory. Then upload the entire directory contents to your reserved space on your Internet Service Provider's server. Your URL address would probably be: http://www.isp.com/~username (isp being your ISP domain name and username being your user name) For example the URL for Computer Ease is: http://www.cobbusa.com . . . put the correct URL in your browsers location box, press Enter, and your "index.html" will appear, and be your personal website and online Internet homepage.

Download it from here or make note of the URL. It is easy to configure, just make a new folder, your choice of name, then click on "Add Site", which only requires a "Site Label" (your name), user name, password, your ISP domain name, the "Initial Remote Directory" usually "www", and your "Initial Local Directory", which is your local computer homepage path such as: C:\Homepage. It has an "Edit Site" button for changes.

If you are interested in HTML website design, at this point, after relatively few steps, you will have more knowledge than many that have been working for months. You will continue progressing swiftly by using code lines in the COEASE Internet Local Homepage as examples, and using "Copy" and "Paste", transferring lines to other pages and making only minor changes in the lines, file names, etc. The many other advantages in using the local homepage can only be realized by using it.

Installing the local homepage is a snap. Just point to the downloaded .exe file from the Windows 95/98/Me/2000 "Run" command, from "Windows 95/98/Me/2000 Explorer" or the Windows 95/98/Me/2000 Control Panel "Add/Remove Programs" function. Every thing is automatic with the exeception of assigning the local homepage as your Internet browser's "Start Page", which is done from the browser. There is a "Program Group" created with an icon that gives easy instruction for the browser "Start Page" assignment.
